Sarah Moore

"I love working for Ideal Shopping Direct because it's such a great mix of television and retailing, the two careers I know and love"

After graduating from London University in 1993 with a degree in English, Sarah spent five years of her early career at M&S as part of the Food Development Team, where she spent much of her time sampling delicious recipes. It was during her time at M&S that she began to work as a presenter, co-hosting a Healthy Eating Roadshow with diet and fitness expert, Rosemary Conley.

Sarah has since appeared on Ready Steady Cook, Sky Sports News, Sky News Active and Sky Radio and, before joining Ideal World, Sarah was part of the Sky News Weather Team, where she was a familiar face on ‘Sunrise’.

Originally from Gillingham in Kent, Sarah now lives in Rutland with her husband and two children.

Q & A:

What did you do before IW?
For the last 3 years I've been a full-time mum, but before I had my family I was a weathergirl on Sky News. However, before that I worked at M&S as part of the food development team.
Most embarrassing on-screen moment?
When I was a new girl at Sky, I stopped in the middle of a live presentation thinking I was doing a recording. I had to recover myself and carry on - I was mortified!
Tell us a secret
I am scared of flying.
What’s your idea of the perfect Sunday (when you’re not working)?
A lie-in, then tea and the papers, then a walk followed by a roast lunch that I haven't had to cook. Afterwards I'd like to flop on the sofa in front of a good film. This is, of course, a complete fantasy as my children are 3 and 5 and they simply wouldn't allow it!
Which living person do you most admire and why?
The Queen. She is steadfast and true.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself / others?
In myself it’s control freakery, in others it’s indiscretion.
Aside from property, what’s the most expensive thing you've bought?
With my husband - our wedding.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Cream. I can spoon it straight from the tub or drink it from the carton. I am gross!
What keeps you awake at night?
My son, he is 5 and a terrible sleeper.
How would you like to be remembered?
As someone who learnt from her mistakes. There have been some whoppers.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
Treat others as you would wish to be treated.
Favourite IW/CC product?
The Tefal Actifry, anything from Cuisinart, and a Remote Control 'Smash Car' I bought my son at Christmas. It was great value and he loves it.
Which phrase do you overuse?
"D'you know" - I wish I could stop!
If you could travel back in time, which period would you visit?
The fifties. But in my own life, I would also love just one more minute with my newborn babies.
