From a lovely limited edition of 90, this evocative bear has been reproduced from an older pattern from 1930s - designed by Max Hermann himself.

This has also been made up using original plush material, one of the first non-mohair materials used for Old Hermann Bears in the 1950s, when soft stuffed bears were popular.

The Bears

HERMANN Coburg, one of the oldest teddy manufacturers still running, is now run by the third generation of the founder's family. Every HERMANN-Coburg Teddy Bear is handmade in Germany, and most are still created in the same way as their long-term forerunners, Max Hermann Teddy Bears: valuable mohair fabric, primarily stuffed with excelsior.

Many skilled men and women, some of whom have worked for the company for 20 or 30 years, are busily working all year round to satisfy the worldwide demand from friends of these adorable creatures. HERMANN Coburg Bears are distinguished by their trademark green logo 'The bear with the running dog', and their noses - hemstitched by professionals. Each item comes individually boxed.
