Strawberry Body Shape

Strawberry Body Shape
  • Broad shoulders
  • Ample bust and a wide back
  • Slim hips
  • Subtle waist
  • Tendency to gain weight in your belly and upper body

Dressing the Strawberry Shape:

The key to dressing an ‘Inverted Triangle’ body type is to balance your broader shoulders, chest and back with your narrower lower body to create more of an hourglass effect. This is achieved by choosing clothes that add curves to your hips and bottom, while creating a more defined waist. You probably have amazing legs - so feel free to play with skirt lengths(but don’t go too short otherwise you will further a top-heavy look).

Clothes to Look out for

Tops: Look for tops that will accentuate your waist and help balance your bust with your hips. Look for:

  • Narrow V-necks
  • Tops with banding or nipping at the waist
  • Wrap-style tops
  • Tailored shirts and jackets
  • Dark coloured tops
  • Cardigans worn open soften the shape
  • Chunky bracelets and rings draw the eye down

Bottoms: Choose bottoms that will enhance your lower body and help balance your upper body. Try the following

  • Trousers with embellished or flap-style pockets
  • Boot cut, wide leg and flared trousers
  • Full, tiered or bubble skirts
  • Full or A-line skirts
  • Coloured trousers and skirts

Avoid:

  • Off the shoulder tops – these broaden the shoulders
  • Frilled and puff sleeves
  • Tapered and/or high waisted trousers
  • Chunky knitwear
  • Patterned tops
  • Narrowing hemlines, such as pencil skirts and skinny jeans
