Hayley Green

So excited to be here!

Though she was a milk lady while at school and at theatre college, Hayley really started her career as a singer/dancer back in 1989, starting like so many as a ‘Red Coat’.

Hayley then moved on to do five summer seasons in Jersey and many theatre tours around the UK, including 'The All New Minstrels' starring some of the original Black and White Minstrels!

She has also been entertainment director of various hotels and holiday centres in the UK, Portugal, Cyprus and Malta, putting together and performing in the shows, as well as making all the costumes.

Though Hayley has always loved to perform, she also loved the world of sales. She did her first Ideal Home Exhibition Show at Earl’s Court, London in 1989 and, in 2012, did her 23rd one! Hayley went into demonstrating products at shows and exhibitions full time in 1999 and hasn’t looked back since.

After guesting on various shopping channels, Hayley knew it was the career for her - and it just had to be Ideal World and Create and Craft.

Hayley says: “Everyone is so nice, I feel so lucky to be here - I am loving every minute!”

Q & A

What did you do before IW?

I was a singer and dancer and sales demonstrator

Most embarrassing on-screen moment?

I was demonstrating an iron and it kept fusing the lights in the studio every time I steamed!

Tell us a secret

I can't - I've always been taught to keep them!

What’s your idea of the perfect Sunday (when you’re not working)?

A lie in, gym, a good breakfast, afternoon walk and Sunday dinner at mum’s at 6pm.

Which living person do you most admire and why?

My fantastic mum and a good friend of mine who has just had major surgery and still jokes and laughs every day. They are both so amazing.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself / others?

In myself, my lack of confidence and being nervous; in others, too much confidence!

Aside from property, what’s the most expensive thing you've bought?

My car - I had a car instead of a child. I also have a very nice coat that cost the earth - my second child I guess!

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Holidays, time off and Haribos

How would you like to be remembered?

That I was always there when needed

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

Dance like no-one is watching, love like you've never been hurt and sing like no-one is listening! Live and love every day to the full, just like my Dad did.

Favourite IW/CC product?

Vibrapower

Which phrase do you overuse?

‘Fantastic’ - though trying hard not to say it

If you could travel back in time, which period would you visit?

The '50s for great frocks, music and dancing and for a better value of life. And to have chance to dance with my beautiful Dad again.
