Styling Advice

Although human hair wigs are suitable for colouring and use with heated styling tools, exercise caution and care and limit to a minimum. Do not use hot styling utensils or hairdryers on synthetic fibre wigs. And keep away from all sources of heat. Use specialist brushes and your fingers to minimise friction frizz.

After Care For Your Wig
  • Wash the wig after it has been worn 10-12 times
  • Soak the wig in ½ tsp of wig shampoo for 5 minutes, rinse and condition
  • Leave to dry naturally
  • Use only specialist products


  • How do I know what size I need?

    Today's wigs all have adjustable caps to fit most heads and fit over 90% of wig users. This can adjust the circumference up to 1" larger or smaller to ensure a secure fit. Some wigs offer a range of sizes and you can determine what size you require by taking some measurements. Read more...

  • How do I fit or put on my wig?

    Secure your own hair by pinning or using a wig cap. Hold wig by the back (where the tags are) and shake. Loosen the Velcro straps or hooks in the back of the wig. Hold the wig by the sides and slip it over your head. Adjust until the wig looks like your own hairline at the front. Shop our Wig Caps

  • How do I clean my wig?

    Brush the wig thoroughly and add some wig shampoo to cold water. Let the wig soak for 5 minutes whilst agitating the wig gently. Rinse gently in cold clear water until thoroughly rinsed. Apply a generous amount of wig conditioner and gently work through hair with the fingertips. Rinse thoroughly with cold water. Drain and blot gently with a towel – Never rub..   • How do I style my wig?

    Your wig can be styled by using a wire brush, a wire pick or your fingertips. Your wig was designed with a basic style, but the variations you can achieve through styling are limitless. To return your wig to its basic style, simply brush thoroughly, clean and allow to air dry.

  • Can I use my usual mousse with my new wig?

    You can use regular mousse daily on synthetic and human hair wigs for extra body and a more natural look and feel.

  • What is a Monofilament Wig?

    A monofilament is the cap within the wig that has two layers for maximum comfort, enhanced by a weaving technique, resulting in improved ventilation.

  • What is the difference between synthetic hair and human hair?

    Synthetic hair is less expensive than human hair and easy to maintain and style. Human hair has more versatility and has longer durability.

  • Is human hair better than synthetic?

    This is more personal preference depending on what you are looking for from your wig. For a wig that is easy to maintain and less expensive, a synthetic wig would be more suitable. A human hair wig is more suitable as a wig that will be worn daily and thus requiring more styling.

  • Why are some wigs more expensive than others?

    Price is a reflection of quality of the materials. There are many materials than can be used to make wigs, including various types of synthetic fibres and human hair. For example, some synthetic fibre is softer and silkier than other types, therefore making the wig more expensive. Some materials used inside the wigs are lighter weight and more durable, therefore increasing costs.

  • How is the wig packaged?

    Wigs usually arrive boxed, and turned inside out. Give the wig a really good shake to wake the whole fibre and style.

  • Do I need a wig cap?

    This is a personal choice but will retain the hair for comfort. If you have no hair it can protect the wig from perspiration. We suggest that you try with and without a wig cap and decide which is best for you. Shop our Wig Caps
