Howard Griffiths
"TV Shopping...Howard you fancy that...?"
Howard joined Ideal World in 2005 and is extremely passionate about the products he demonstrates. He’s presented with hundreds of guests including George Foreman, Paul McKenna and Ken Hom and enjoys the thrill of live demonstrations.
Before joining Ideal World, Howard presented television and radio programmes for the BBC and twice fronted his own travel series for ITV1 Wales, fronted two ITV1 Wales specials and narrated four DIY series on ITV1 Wales. Howard started his broadcast career 58,000 feet high on board Concorde, en route to New York reporting for BBC Radio 5's RAVE programme, presented by Rob Brydon.
In November 1998 he ran the New York Marathon with Falklands War veteran Simon Weston OBE, reporting for BBC Choice and later became a guest presenter on Livetime Granada Television in 2000. He’s fronted a plethora of BBC pop concerts presenting with Bryan Adams, Bill Wyman, Ronan Keating, Emma Bunton, Katherine Jenkins and in 2008 fronted his first TV advert, the Woolite £10 million TV commercial campaign. Howard has a passion for arts and crafts and thrives in the kitchen and garden. He’s known for his enthusiastic approach to everything including shopping!
In 2010 Howard skydived from 15,000 feet raising funds for his chosen charity. He started broadcasting on Concorde and continues to fly high with Ideal World.

Q & A:
- Most embarrassing on-screen moment?
- During a live programme on Ideal World and in full view, a guest, who shall remain nameless, walked towards the demonstration area to extol the virtues of a product and their trousers fell to the floor! Thankfully they were wearing underwear but we both had red faces and I took several minutes to stop laughing.
- Tell us a secret
- I have a flapjack in my lunchbox.
- What’s your idea of the perfect Sunday (when you’re not working)?
- A day on the beach with the family walking the dogs, then later a good session in the gym ending up with my Sunday night Jacuzzi to relax.
- Which living person do you most admire and why?
- Richard Branson – He doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk and makes a difference.
- What is the trait you most deplore in yourself / others?
- Talk too much.
- What is your guiltiest pleasure?
- Eating a Cornish pasty at 11.30 at night after a hard session in the gym, knowing it’s too late to eat and the pastry will sit on my hips.
- What keeps you awake at night?
- Jetlag… I sleep through everything else.
- How would you like to be remembered?
- As a genuine friend who made us laugh.
- What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
- Take one step back and listen.

- If you could travel back in time, which period would you visit?
- Pre – historic… I’ve always fancied dressing like a caveman for the day as long as the outfit doesn’t chaff!!
