When you order your live plants through Garden Bargains you can rest assured that your latest Blueberry plant , Jumbo Fuschia or Olive Standard, is in safe hands. The nursery ships millions of live plants every year.
Recently Ideal World presenter and keen gardener Shaun Ryan popped along to the fantastic Garden Bargains nursery to chat with Head Gardener Peter McDermott about the process live plants go through to be shipped to you.
While they are no strangers to the specialist shipping methods they offer on their live plants, we feel it’s time to show you, our customers the high standard of quality control and care your plant order goes through before it leaves the nursery.
As Shaun says in the opening of the video: “I think when you are ordering from the TV customers are always concerned about quality and I can see the quality is outstanding, isn’t it.”
Peter McDermott, replies: “Well of course, that’s the one thing we really work hard at Sean, our endeavour is to make sure every plant is in perfect condition when it’s delivered to the customer.”
Plug plants are essentially housed within mini plastic greenhouses before shipping, this keeps the root and compost separate from the plant itself. All live plant packaging is clearly labelled with both ‘This Way Up’ markings and written warning that they are live plants in transit.
