My career in show business began at the age of 12 when I worked as a regular presenter in the Yorkshire Television Series ‘Junior Showtime’.
Since those early days, I have performed at virtually all the major cabaret venues throughout the world; including a ten month season at ‘The Desert Inn’ in Las Vegas.
I have worked frequently with the BBC, starring on their hugely successful TV series ‘Double Dare’ before going on to present the gunge-filled ‘Run the Risk’ children’s game show.
Looking back over the years it is amazing how quickly time flies and what I have done in my life.
From singing around the world with a truly amazing show band to diving into swimming pools and dragging people out who were in difficulty as a lifeguard; I really have had a very varied list of jobs.
To say I have had fun would be an understatement, nothing compares to working on live television. They say that if you find a job you love then you will never work a day in your life and for the last 15 years there is not a day gone by that I have not been truly grateful to have such a wonderful job.
Well, where do I start? I’m a northern bird who talks for a living, on the box and on the wireless. I’m the new kid on the block at Ideal World and I’m blooming loving every minute of it!
Family is such a big part in my life and I love spending time with mine whenever I can, but especially at the most beautiful time of the year…Christmas, as I am Mrs Christmas…lol. It was a huge shock for Gary and me when I fell pregnant, it was a life changing experience and the hardest thing I think we have ever done. Despite the sleepless nights, I never knew I could have so much love for our wonderful little boy Frankie Jack, born in August 2014. Still gutted though that I cannot get into my pre-pregnancy jeans - this year, I promise I will. I have to really as I’m getting married and I cannot cope thinking it could be named ‘The Big Fat Sally Wedding’!
As many of you will already know my greatest passion is Fashion; helping people to feel good about themselves and more confident. I love to design clothes, as well as having my own successful range; I have also created for a Parisian fashion house. Don’t stand still for too long in my company, as I am always thinking up new ways to accessorise and you may find something stuck on you!
Hi there, this is Dennice just about to start another day of presenting on Ideal World! I joined Ideal World about a month after the channel launched in 2000 and have honestly had more fun, enjoyment and job satisfaction here than I have experienced in all my working life.
I am a busy mum of two grown daughters, one of whom is special needs, and they together with my husband and granddaughter are the joy of my life.
I look forward to my working week at Ideal World and over the many, many years have had the pleasure of presenting products that can; make life easier; make you look better; make you feel better; make you sleep better and even make your hair grow ! What's not to like?
Working with a fantastic team and presenting to such a kind and generous audience makes me feel like a very, very lucky person - long may it continue!
"It’s wonderful to still be presenting on Ideal World and I’m loving all the new great brands and products now on the channel"
I love being a TV presenter but here’s a little bit about me and how I got there.
As a child I was actually quite academic and went to a strict all boys Grammar School in York. I moved to London at the age of 19 to study a BA in Performance Arts, followed by a post graduate course at Mountview Theatre School.
Some of my career highlights before Ideal World include professional pantomime at Brighton’s Theatre Royal, touring with Eartha Kitt, presenting live roadshows for London’s Capital FM and even singing on tour in a boy band - quite badly I may add! The lowest point of my career was wearing a potato costume in Leicester Square for ten hours in scorching summer heat - I was definitely a ‘baked potato’ by the end of the day!
In my home time I love gardening and am chair of our local garden club. I also really like theatre and travel - particularly cruise holidays. I adore nice pubs and great food and proudly own an award-winning village pub with my wonderful partner Jay. Occasionally I pull a pint, however you will usually find me in front of the bar rather than behind it. My mum now lives near the pub too and she’s now one of our best customers!!
Jay and I have also always been interested in property design and development and 4 years ago we bought a really run down property, knocked it down and project managed our own “ Grand Design Build” It was a challenging journey, particularly as a lot of the build was during various pandemic lockdowns but worth all the stress and hard work - eventually!
I feel very lucky in life; love my job, partner, family and my great friends.
Hi Everyone, Hayley here! You know when you sometimes just have to pinch yourself and realise how lucky you are? That’s how I feel about being part of the Ideal World family.
Before this I had every job you can imagine, I worked as a singer, milk lady, blue coat, warehouse packer, dancer, entertainment manager and many more! However the last 3 years at Ideal World have been the highlight of my working life, I have had the opportunity to present a lot of my favourites including fitness, fashion, interiors and DIY.
When I’m not working I’m with my Mum or my partner (who also works at Ideal world) and we all love to travel here, there and everywhere! The best thing about my new base here in Peterborough is my new home; I live right next to a lake and have befriended the local duck community, who now come tapping their beaks on my door for food and cuddles.
Hello there, my name’s Paul. I’ve been a shopping TV Presenter since 2005; no two days are the same and I absolutely love it! I especially enjoy learning about the latest technology and gadgets and how they can make our lives easier.
I have four wonderful children, two boys and two girls, so any products that can cut down my time in the garden or fixing up the house are really appreciated. I help my beautiful wife in the kitchen as much as possible, although she doesn’t always find it helpful and delegates me jobs, like cooking with the Tefal Cook4Me or making frozen desserts with the power blender!
Hi everyone, it’s Genevieve here. I am so lucky to be able to say that I have been part of Ideal World for nearly five years - I can't believe how fast the time has flown by!
You may have noticed by my accent that I am originally from Ireland; Co Cork to be exact. I kissed the Blarney Stone on a school trip and haven't stopped chatting since!
I started out studying journalism and I have written many articles on fashion, beauty, lifestyle and entertainment for national magazines and newspapers. I had my own ‘Style & Beauty’ column which quickly turned into a full page feature every week. I also worked as a stylist for celebrities and a TV style expert.
I enjoyed presenting and started working on consumer, entertainment and daytime magazine shows. I was delighted to report from red carpet events such as film premieres, the BAFTAs and other film awards; it's a great experience presenting live as you have to think quickly and be prepared for anything.
I have interviewed many movie stars and film directors and I have to say they were always so lovely and very chatty. One of my favourite moments was being allowed to hold a BAFTA by a well-known actor, but then I did nearly drop it - those things are heavy!
I love how presenting at Ideal World allows me to pursue my passion for journalism, fashion and lifestyle, and was delighted to be given the opportunity to design a range of dresses, which was a wonderful experience.
When not working I love being with my family and friends and adore music and theatre.
I can’t believe i’m here on the presentation team and what a journey it’s been!
I started my career as a Bluecoat Entertainer in sunny Morecambe way back in 1990, it was here I learned my presentation skills in front of live audiences. The next year I went on to Southport where I met the love of my life, Hayley Green also a presenter here at Ideal, and we’ve pretty much lived and worked together ever since.
We went on to travel the world as singers and entertainers but also along side this worked in sales at shows and exhibitions up and down the UK demonstrating products for many big brands selling everything from handbags to vases, toys to coffee makers but I specialised in Home Interiors.
I also worked for many years in hotels and cruise ships as a singer, in Entertainment management and an entertainment consultant and booker.
I got to meet and work with many big showbiz names from Katie Price to Paul Hollywood, Jason Donovan to the lovely Len Goodman, I even starred in panto as an Ugly Sister with a Gladiator!
I am over the moon to be here at Ideal World as a presenter but I also still get to work as the home interiors and luxury living expert and I still get to work with Hayley, my partner of 27 years (She can’t escape!) See you soon with more family, friendship and fun!
After being a guest presenter at Ideal World the past four years for the Proskins brand, I felt very honoured to be joining the Presenting Team here, it’s a dream come true!
A lot of you lovely viewers will probably know me as ‘Jess from Proskins’, however I did begin life in the TV industry at the age of 10. I was lucky enough to train at the Sylvia Young Theatre School and appeared on the West End in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and also in numerous TV shows; with my biggest role as foster kid ‘Jaq Bennett’ in the children’s TV show ‘My Parents Are Aliens’.
Being a fanatic of the outdoors, Rob (my newly-wed husband!), and I, spend many weekends in the Peak District walking with our part-time King Charles Cavalier Annie, who we share with my mum. She’s only with us part time as Rob and I do so much travelling, we can’t keep still!
Fitness and fashion are big passions of mine which is why I still work at Proskins as I genuinely love products that help make life easier. I can’t wait to search more out at Ideal World and share them with you all, so let’s get shopping!
I’m literally over the moon to have joined the Presentation team here at Ideal World.
After a 37 year career in West End musical theatre (I was in my pram!) playing roles from Annie in Annie, Sandy in Grease, Kathy in Singin’ in the Rain, Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, Anna in The King & I, Roxie in Chicago plus many more, I made the move into freelance concert work and left theatre land behind me in 2016.
I still get to travel the world from Singapore to Skegness, New Zealand to Newcastle singing show tunes with International Orchestras. During one concert the compère was taken ill and I was asked to link the concert as well as be the soloist … a love affair with presenting began!
I became a guest presenter at QVC in 2015 and then landed the role of chair and host of Property Question Time for Sky and after a stint at TVSN in Australia I came here to Ideal World as an interiors guest.
Alongside all of this a passion for property and interiors developed having bought my first flat in London in 1990 whilst in Phantom and redeveloping it! I’m now a busy landlady and look after my rental flats too! That zeal for interiors brought me here to Ideal World as an interiors and luxury guest and now cannot believe my luck that I’m now a presenter here!
The team here are second to none and it’s that team that make Ideal World the best place ever to work!
"Im so happy to be back at Ideal World, it feels like coming home”
Originally from Epsom in Surrey, Dean now lives in a small village in Cambridgeshire with his partner, their sons George and Jack and dog Austin.
Not many people know that Dean's TV career started as a weather presenter on Sky, before he entered the world of Home Shopping over 25 years ago at QVC.
However, Dean has also been seen on many shows over the years, from The Golf Channel, the UK's first interactive quiz channel, commercials, hosting Channel 5s daytime game show Going for Gold and has been the award winning host of UK Craft for over 10 years.
Although his work has taken him from London to LA in his time, Dean's heart has always been at home with Ideal World and its wonderful viewers.
Dean still likes to be creative and outside of work by producing and directing online content for clients, but also loves a bit of furniture restoration in his spare time. His true passions outside work are being with his beloved family, playing golf and entertaining with the odd glass of vino.
