Murdannia isn't one of those attention-seeking divas that just scream at you to pay it attention.

It's a rather more subtle plant with sophisticated, wavy edged leaves, highlighted with a margin of deeper green that makes it stand out for no other reason than it is extremely beautiful.

The strap-shaped leaves slowly spiral out from its central base, creating a delightful, gently sprawling habit which soon fills pots with lush greenery. Occasionally, at the tips of these stems, airy sprays of creamy white star shaped flowers will appear.

Very easy to grow and perfect for even the most novice of gardeners, Murdannia is best grown as a foliage plant, in a shady spot indoors. Keep plant well-watered, but do not allow it to sit in wet soil.

Care Information

• A frost-tender houseplant, make sure that it is in a bright spot but not in direct sun, with a constant average temperature no lower than 10°C in the winter.
• Water regularly when in full growth from spring to autumn, and reduce watering in the winter, leaving the compost to dry out between watering.
• Plants benefit from extra humidity, so mist the leaves occasionally.
