Talent Search Terms
1. Promoter
The promoter is Shop TJC Ltd promoting its brand “ Ideal World ”, registered in England and Wales with registered office at Surrey House, Plane Tree Crescent, Feltham, TW13 7HF (“ Ideal World”, “we”, “us”, “our ”).
2. Eligibility
- This talent search is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over.
- Employees of Ideal World, its group companies, agents, contractors, or their immediate families may enter, but are not eligible to win.
- By entering, entrants confirm they are legally entitled to work in the UK. Successful candidates may be subject to proof of age, identity verification, right to work checks and background screening appropriate to broadcast roles. We reserve the right to verify eligibility at any time.
- No prior TV presenting experience is required
3. How to Enter
- To enter, participants must submit a 60-second audition video showing themselves selling any item from their home.
- Videos must be sent via email to applynow@idealworld.tv by the advertised closing date. The talent search will open on 25 February 2026 and closes at 23:59 on 31 March 2026
- Late, incomplete, corrupted, or inappropriate entries may be rejected at our discretion.
- Only one entry per person will be accepted.
- Videos much not exceed 20 MB and must be in MP4 format.
- Ideal World accepts no responsibility for submission blocked by spam filters or file size limits.
4. Content Requirements
- The audition video must:
- Feature only the entrant (or people who have given express permission)
- Contain no copyrighted music, images, or material owned by third parties
- Be suitable for family viewing and broadcast standards
- Videos containing offensive, defamatory, unsafe, or unlawful content will be disqualified.
- Ideal World is under no obligation to use, broadcast, or publish any submitted entry.
5. Rights & Permissions
By submitting an audition video, entrants:
- Grant Ideal World a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, broadcast, and share the video (in whole or in part)
- Permit use of their name, image, likeness, and voice for promotional, marketing, and editorial purposes
- Acknowledge that their video may be used across all Ideal World TV channels, websites, social media platforms, and digital services
- To the extent permitted by law, entrants waive all moral rights in relation to the submitted content.
- Ideal World reserves the right to remove any published entry at any time.
- Ideal World may repost, share, promote, or otherwise amplify submitted content across its social media platforms. Entrants acknowledge that once content is shared publicly, it may be viewed, shared, or commented upon by third parties beyond Ideal World’s control.
No compensation will be payable for such use.
Entrants warrant that:
- The audition video is their original work
- They own or control all necessary rights
- Any third parties featured have provided their written consent
- The content does not infringe any third-party rights
- The content complies with applicable laws and advertising standards
Entrants agree to indemnify Ideal World against any claims arising from breach of the above warranties.
6. Selection Process
- Entries will be reviewed by a panel appointed by Ideal World
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited to auditions, interviews, or screen tests
- All decisions made by Ideal World are final. Entries will be judged on presentation skills, communication skills, communication ability, product demonstration skills, personality, and suitability for broadcast.
- Ideal World reserves the right not to select a winner if, in its opinion, no suitable candidate is identified.
7. Outcome / Opportunity
- Successful candidates may be offered a freelance TV presenting contract with Ideal World.
- Any contract offered will:
- Be on a freelance basis
- Be subject to separate terms to be agreed
- Carry no minimum shift or hour commitment
- Be non-exclusive unless otherwise agreed in writing
- Any engagement will be subject to satisfactory references, right-to-work verification, and compliance checks.
- Participation in the talent search does not guarantee on-air appearances or future work.
- Nothing in this talent search creates an employment relationship between Ideal World and any entrant.
8. Costs
- No purchase necessary to enter
- Entrants are responsible for any costs incurred in creating or submitting their audition video.
- Ideal World will not reimburse participation in auditions, screen tests, travel or accommodation expenses unless explicitly agreed in advance in writing.
9. Data Protection
- Personal data provided will be used solely for administering the competition, assessing entries, and contacting participants.
- Data will be processed in accordance with Ideal World’s Privacy Policy.
- Entrants may be contacted for future casting opportunities unless they request otherwise.
- Personal data and submitted content may be retained for up to 1 year for casting and promotional purposes.
- The lawful basis for processing is consent and legitimate interests in operating the talent search.
- · Videos may be transferred outside of the UK in connection with international and social media distribution.
- Entrants may withdraw consent at any time, however, content already published may not be retractable.
10. Liability
- Ideal World accepts no responsibility for:
- Lost, delayed, or corrupted entries
- Technical issues affecting submission or viewing
- Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
- Subject to the above, Ideal World’s total liability shall not exceed £100.
11. General
- Ideal World reserves the right to:
- Amend or withdraw the talent search at any time
- Disqualify any entrant who breaches these Terms or acts in a way that brings the talent search or brand into disrepute
- These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
- Shortlisted entrants and/or selected candidates may be required to participate in reasonable publicity, promotional activity, filming, photography, and media interviews in connection with the talent search without additional compensation.
- By entering, entrants agree that, if shortlisted or selected, Ideal World may use their name, image, likeness, biographical details and audition content for
- promotional and editorial purposes in connection with the talent search. Entrants agree to keep confidential any non-public information disclosed to them in connection with the talent search, including details of the selection process, internal feedback, commercial information, or production arrangements.
- Entrants must not make public statements, social media posts, or disclosures that misrepresent or bring into disrepute Ideal World, its staff, or the talent search process.
- Ideal World reserves the right to request additional information, updated audition materials, re-recorded submissions, or participation in further filming, interviews or screen tests as part of the selection process.
- Ideal World reserves the right to disqualify or withdraw any offer from an entrant who (i) has engaged in conduct (whether online or offline) that, in Ideal World’s reasonable opinion, may bring the brand, channel, or talent search into disrepute; (ii) has made false statements in their application; (iii) fails to comply with reasonable instructions during auditions or screen tests.
- Ideal World retains full editorial control over all content produced in connection with the talent search and may edit, adapt, combine, or omit submitted materials at its sole discretion.
- Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship between Ideal World and any entrant.
12. Acceptance
By submitting an entry, entrants confirm they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
